Setting roles and permissions

Understand board admin, board member, and homeowner — and who can do what.

Stewardly uses three roles to control access. Choosing the right role for each person keeps sensitive controls — like billing and payment settings — in the right hands while still letting the whole board collaborate.

The three roles

Board admin: full control, including billing, payment settings, and changing other members’ roles. Board member: manages day-to-day operations — members, units, tasks, meetings, dues, and announcements — but not billing or other members’ roles. Homeowner: a resident view of their own unit, documents, announcements, and meeting minutes.

Change someone’s role

  1. 1Open Members and select the person.
  2. 2Choose a new role from their record.
  3. 3Save. Their access updates immediately on their next page load.

Tip · For continuity, keep at least two board admins so you’re never locked out if one person is unavailable.
